Prof. Okyeon Yi received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in mathematics from Korea University, Korea, in
1988 and 1990,
respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in mathematics from University of Kentucky, USA, in 1996. From
1999 to 2001, he was a
leader of the research team for information security with the Electronics and Telecommunications
Research Institute.
Since 2001, he has been with the Faculty of Information Security, Cryptography, and Mathematics,
Kookmin University,
Korea.
He also served as the president of the Korea Crypto Forum from 2020 to 2021, and as the president of
the Korean Society
of Information Protection (KIISC) during 2022.
His research interests include Cryptography, Quantum Security, 5G, 6G, and Satellite
Security.
And he held firm belief that the development of usable technologies and equipments for information
security and
cryptography is the most important research objective.
